Privacy Statement

Our privacy statement sets out what to expect when you provide GR8Fires with your personal information. The current version is effective as of 25th May 2018.

How we collect and use your data

Visiting our website

When you visit www.gr8fires.co.uk we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect information about how you use the site. We monitor overall patterns of user behaviour including, for example, how people find our website, which pages are most often visited, how long visits typically last or which browsers and devices our visitors use.

Our website is hosted by Amazon Web Services. You can read more about how they process and protect data on our behalf on the Amazon Web Services website.

When you use our site search your query is sent to a third-party service, Doofinder, S. L., limited, who help us provide you with more relevant instant search results. We do not tie your search terms to you, personally. For more information, please see the Doofinder privacy statement.

In order to recommend more relevant products, we send information about the pages you view and actions you take on our website to Nosto Solutions Oy. Nosto help us personalise content on our website and in adverts you may see on other platforms including Facebook and Instagram. If you opt in to email marketing, Nosto may also help us show you more useful product recommendations in those emails. Nosto transfer your data to systems hosted in the USA. You can read more about how they process data on our behalf, and how they protect it, in the Data Processing Addendum to our agreement with them.

When you visit our website, we send details of which pages you view to Google AdWords, Bing Ads and Facebook. When you browse their websites, or sites who are members of their advertising networks, you may see advertising for products or categories you previously viewed on GR8Fires. These services use tracking technologies to identify you as the same user who previously visited our website.

Placing an order with us

When you place an order online or by phone we collect your name, address and contact details enabling us to fulfil your order and to update you on its progress. Payment card data is also collected by, or passed to, one of several payment service providers. These are currently:

  • SagePay
  • Paypal
  • Amazon Payments
  • Worldpay
  • Adflex

In addition to retaining financial records, we may retain details of your order for the typical expected lifetime of a stove or appliance, which we estimate to be ten years. This enables us to fulfil our obligations in relation to product warranties and, where applicable, our legal liability for the products we sell to you.

If you choose to apply for credit rather than paying for your order right away, you will be requested to enter into a separate and direct agreement with our preferred finance company, currently Omni Capital Retail Finance Ltd. If you agree, we will provide them with your contact information and they will invite you to complete a credit application and subsequent credit agreement. They are the data controller in respect of information you provide to them and you should read carefully any documentation they provide to ensure that their service meets your needs.

From time to time, GR8Fires enters into affiliate relationships with other websites who refer visitors to us. These relationships are managed via a third party, Conversant LLC, and their subsidiaries, Commission Junction LLC and Conversant Europe Ltd. If you visit us after following a link from one of our affiliates’ websites and go on to place an order with us, we send Conversant LLC a tracking ID, your GR8Fires order ID and details of details of what you purchased from us. We do not send them your name, address, email address or other personal information you provide to us.

Transactional (non-marketing) emails, including order confirmations and dispatch notifications, are sent via SendGrid, an email delivery service. We provide them with your email address for the purpose of sending these messages and ensuring that they reach you successfully.

Your order is delivered by a third party delivery company, for example Royal Mail, DPD, TPN or Fortec. We provide them with your name, address and contact information for the purposes of shipping your order.
